For the last 12 hours I have not received any WU's.
I also have 10 WU's that are not being uploaded to server. Is there a problem?
I have rebooted my system several times and my
internet connection is ok.
All was ok last night and and all WU's have now been completed.

If a project has more tasks waiting for upload than you have CPUS, work fetch will not happen.

That does not, however, explain why uploads are not happening.

It has taken most of the day to upload about 20 Wu.
I still have 7 more pending upload.
This is what the message page reports.
Any ideas?

When you upload 5 more, you will suddenly get a work request through.

Thanx for that.
Any ideas why it is taking so long to do the uploads?

It looks like the inbound link is pretty much saturated

[edit]

Just recently, the network graph seems to have fallen to 0. This typically means that some back end werver has fallen over. It may be Monday before it comes back on line.

Message 861128 - Posted: 2 Feb 2009, 16:25:23 UTC

I have a question that fits in here (hope so).

My Computer ran out of work. Though all finished work has been uploaded, the client refuses to request any new work.
02.02.2009 17:24:31|SETI@home|Sending scheduler request: Requested by user. Requesting 0 seconds of work, reporting 0 completed tasks
02.02.2009 17:24:36|SETI@home|Scheduler request completed: got 0 new tasks

Any ideas what could be wrong?

Nothing. Probably a Long Term Debt (LTD) issue. See this FAQ for more informations.

I have been having this problem for several days now.
I'm getting ready to uninstall and call it quits.
I've only been running S@H for a few weeks and fighting
overheating problems and now this.

FAQ didn't help. Everything is fine. Though I don't get anything. Well I have some other projects, that can do work, so I won't need SETI for now. Let's see what happens in some days...

Yes, as I said: it's quite normal.

Quote from the link in my message:
In general this is an informational message telling you that your system has (done) enough work from the one project or the multiple projects you are attached to.

If you search for "debt" on the FAQ site, you get (among others):
Debt

A project's 'debt' is how much work is owed to it, relative to other projects.
It regulates if work is requested from a project (long term debt) and which project is next in line to be crunched (short term debt).
See Long Term Debt, Short Term Debt, No Work Fetch and Work Fetch Policy.

Long Term Debt

Long-term debt is used by the work-fetch policy. It is defined for all projects, and adjusted over the set of potentially runnable projects. It is normalized so that average long-term debt, over all project, is zero.

Gundolf

You don't have this problem, since you are attached to SETI only. In fact, I don't see any problem. You have at least 60 tasks on your host. With an Average turnaround time of 0.2 days, that should last you 12 days.

The only "problem" in your case might be that SETI frequently runs out of tasks to send lately, but that should be seen in your Messages tab as:
02/02/2009 19:01:51|SETI@home|Sending scheduler request: To fetch work. Requesting 2108 seconds of work, reporting 0 completed tasks
02/02/2009 19:01:56|SETI@home|Scheduler request succeeded: got 0 new tasks
02/02/2009 19:01:56|SETI@home|Message from server: (Project has no jobs available)
or similar, since I've BOINC 5.10.45 and you 6.4.5.

Gruß,
Gundolf

6.4.5 has a work fetch bug where if you ever completely run out of work, you will not receive any more - ever.

If you are using CUDA, you need to be an alpha tester and use 6.6.3. If not, the, I would honestly suggest stepping back to 6.2.19. The upgrade can be done simply by installing over the top. The step back requires an uninstall and an install of the older version.
