Hello,

I run seti, LHC, and Einstein. One of my computers is continuously giving the message "fetching scheduler list, master file download succeeded" over and over for a number of days now, for all 3 projects. I am unable to report completed tasks or fetch any new work. I have downloaded, uninstalled and reinstalled the software, but to no avail.

Please help!

Which computer?
Which BOINC version?
What operating system?
How is it connecting to the internet?
Does it use a proxy or is it behind a firewall?
Did you allow BOINC to go through the firewall, or did you make sure that it is at least allowed to communicate on ports 80 and 443?

Thanks Jord,

Using XP Pro (SP3) on AMD Sepron (tm) 1.60 Ghz 1g RAM.
Version 6.4.5
Broadband
Windows Firewall

"Did you allow BOINC to go through the firewall, or did you make sure that it is at least allowed to communicate on ports 80 and 443" - not sure what this means - how do I check?

I don't think I have changed anything. 6.4.5 has been running for a couple of weeks without problem.

Many thanks in adavance.

How to check what ports are allowed outbound for each application depends on the Firewall that is being used.

Hi John,

I'm using the standard XP Pro Firewall. Could a windows file be missing?

Thank you.

Aren't there any error messages? Normally, the master file download only occurs after several unsuccessful attemps to connect to the server.

Gruß,
Gundolf

Did the problems start happening when you upgraded to SP3?
