Hello there

I'm quite new in BOINC project so perhaps I misunderstand something (be patient ;)

I've read somewhere that my computer has only ten days to deal with a data. If it is not able to compute stuff in this period, all operation is canceled. Meanwhile it's left to finish 270h to finish. Does this mean that my computer is too weak to join the project?
How can I upgrade settings?

Regards

Przemek

...I've read somewhere that my computer has only ten days to deal with a data.

It's not always ten days. In BOINC Manager, in advanced view, select the Tasks tab. There's a column named "To completion", there you can see how long each task can last.

If it is not able to compute stuff in this period, all operation is canceled.

Operation is not cancelled by BOINC, but if the task reaches deadline, another copy of that WorkUnit is sent out, because at least two completed tasks are needed to decide if the result is valid. If you report your tasks before this additional job is finished, you still get credits, otherwise not.

Meanwhile it's left to finish 270h to finish.

That's about eleven days. If the deadline of the job lies on or after jan 28, all is well, else see above.

Does this mean that my computer is too weak to join the project?

Not necessarily. You'll have to calculate a bit, using the data from the Tasks tab. [edit] Perhaps it's only too slow for AstroPulse WorkUnits. You can disable downloading them by setting in your SETI@home preferences the following:
Run only the selected applications
SETI@home Enhanced: yes
Astropulse: no

If no work for selected applications is available, accept work from other applications? no
[/edit]

How can I upgrade settings?

See champ's answer.

Gruß,
Gundolf

[edit2] I just checked your computer and task. 2.53GHz is definitely fast enough, as you can also see by the deadline of 14 Feb 2009 20:14:19 UTC, which is far beyond my estimated 28 Jan. {/edit2]

You have an AP unit, which has about 30 day deadline. It is due on 14-Feb. So, you have plenty of time to finish it.
