I don't like the fatter taskbar in Win7. The thinner, black taskbar of Vista seems sleeker and sexier. The new one is just too bulky. That's about my only complaint with Win7 now. Most of my other complaints seem to have been addressed.

Have you told it to use small icons?

I left it at the defaults.

[Edit]I changed it to small icons and it looks thinner again, but I don't like the default look, and I'm a default kinda guy. I also don't like that ugly blue color, the black looked sweet.

Try searching on Google for "Windows 7 Black Theme". Also you can right click the taskbar and Unlock it which then enables you to shrink it down and grow it up, however you may loose the date and day then and just be left with the time.

The resizing the task bar isn't the issue. It was still fat. Selecting "small icons" made it the sleeker size, but the color is still off.

Googling Windows 7 Black Theme seems to suggest third-party add-ons, and I don't like installing add-ons for my OS.

I have my Windows 7 set to Classic Windows to start and then I customized the look quite a bit.

I've just installed Windows 7100 64bit on my m2n mobo with an Athlon x2 6000 and a 9800GT. All seems well, except Seti is only processing 1 wu at a time. Any ideas?
Also, when I check the properties of the running wu, it lists the resources as 0.09CPU, and 1 CUDA.

You're not the only one. I still have my copy of Windows 3.0! I've saved every version of Windows since then, including Windows 3.1, WfW 3.11, Windows 95, Windows 95B, Windows 95C, Windows 98SE, Windows NT Workstation 4.0, Windows 2000 Professional, Windows XP Home & Professional, Windows Vista Home Premium and Ultimate. I also have DOS 3.3, 4.01, 5, 6.0, 6.1, 6.2, 6.21, 6.22, and PC DOS 7.0! :) I've watched OS/2 turn into Windows NT 3.1 after IBM and Microsoft split their cooperative deal with IBM continuing on the development of OS/2 while MS focussed on Windows NT.

...lots of fine memories there.

So its only processing a CUDA workunit on your graphics card and not touching the CPUs except to feed the GPGPU? I'd start by checking all of your preferences. Make sure the system is in the right venue (if it applies), check the preference settings. Check to make sure you didn't accidentally change to local preferences in BOINC Manager which override the web-based settings too.

Before you do all that, make sure you have more than one workunit to work on. With the servers being down so much lately, some people have run rather low on work.

yup only AP + cuda here also.. had some "normal" WU earlier
and computer placed normal ones together with AQUA WU as it should
are you connected to other projects chewie? and if so are they using processors as they should?

You will probably find you need to reinstall your graphics drivers and possibly also the NVIDIA Control Panel Application. Then go into the settings on the NVIDIA Control Panel Application and change it to NOT USE SLI.

I have been running Windows since the day it became available. There are no problems whatsoever with BOINC.

You upgraded from Vista x86 (a.k.a. 32bit Vista) to Win7 x64. Last time I tried this, it would work with the older directory. Something tells me that those 60-something tasks are from your old directory.

You can either uninstall the 64bit BOINC and install the 32bit version so that it can pick up where it left off, or you can simply let all those tasks expire on their own.

There's no way to merge them after the upgrade.

this was a server side issue and not a windows/client side issue

I am running Boinc on Win 7 RC. It runs fine except it rarely sends the completed tasks in. Usually have to send them manually. Also it doesn't quit when I tell it to. Have to shut down Win 7.
