Hi,

I have an old account that I used some years back for seti@home.
I was using a username to log in.
I cannot access the e-ail it was registered on anymore (since years I am not working there).

The problem is, I'd use that account but how? Nowadays I log on everywhere using email address instead of old username. Finding the password to it would be a challenge and might take like 10+ tries but I think I have a pretty good chance of finding it after all... I'd just need a method to log on using old username. :(

Is this possible? The old client is still on my PC: "setiathome-3.08.i386-winnt-cmdline.exe". If I start it up it has a work unit at 100% but can't connect to server. :/
It'd be fun to be able to continue that acc... :)

Edit: Umm, I must be getting stupid with getting old, I just linked my old acc to the new one, I guess it's as good solution as any. It did not ask for any password or any kind of notification, very odd, but I guess I'm lucky this time...
So I guess this is solved. Sorry for wasting your time.

I'm happy to welcome you back to Seti. Glad you were able to locate the solution for yourself. Linking to old defunct account is a question that come up several time a week.

Seti Classic didn't use passwords but an activation key. Accounts are link by the unique identifyer of the e-mail address. This is the only and one time account merge that is allowed with Boinc.
