Is it me, or is it S@H, or maybe its BOINC? Since yesterday, I had problem with my ADSL router, which went dead over the wire, but wireless part still works. So I bought wireless card for my PC, as a cheaper solution, and my internet works fine. But, since I have a problem. I see that I am not only with problem with uploading, and I hope that it will be resolved soon. But, my problem is with downloading work. Even thou all my work is finished, boinc is not requesting any new work. I have set in BOINC to download 0.50 days ahead of work, and I tried to see will there be any change to set this on 5 days, but didn't help. 2/22/2009 9:42:38 AM|SETI@home|Sending scheduler request: Requested by user. Requesting 0 seconds of work, reporting 0 completed tasks 2/22/2009 9:42:53 AM|SETI@home|Scheduler request completed: got 0 new tasks Any suggestions? And also I havent noticed any diference with using internet in other applications, everything else works as it used to. |

Is it me, or is it S@H, or maybe its BOINC? It's probably a debt issue with CPDN (climateprediction.net): 2/22/2009 9:42:38 AM|SETI@home|Sending scheduler request: Requested by user. Requesting 0 seconds of work, reporting 0 completed tasks But even if it would request work, currently I can't download due to network congestion (uploads do work for me :-). Well, I'm not sure how everything works here, but i reduced resourse share for CPDN, and I still get same messages. |

One of the safeties that is built into the BOINC client is the limitation on work requests if there are more than 2*ncpus worth of uploads pending. THis prevents the client from building an infinite queue of work to upload. There actually were a couple of projects that took longer to upload the data than to download and crunch. (They have mostly decided to do the work in house because of this problem.). BOINC WIKI |

I just reactivated my account after years of inactivity. After taking forever and multiple retries to download my WUs, now that I have my first 2 untis completed, I can't upload. Again, multiple retries and over 30 minutes each of elapsed time, I still haven't been able to upload 2 25Kbyte result files. Is there currently a problem or is it always this bad? |

There is currently a problem. It happens from time to time. If you look at http://BOINC.ssl.berkekely.edu, it has a list of other BOINC projects. BOINC projects play well together, and you may wish to consider joining another project in addition to S@H to get your computer through the rough spots that occasionally happen. BOINC WIKI |

Well, I'll rest my comp for a day. |
