Well, here's one for the experts. I currently have 3, that's three WUs running at the same time! 1 CPDN and 2 LHCs. How can this be? I only have 2 that are paused (preempted).
I looked at Task Manager and it shows 2 clients running for LHC and 2 clients running for CPDN, one which is active. The 2 LHC clients are using virtually the same CPU power which is about half of the active CPDN which is at 50%.
I'm running a P4 2.8 Ghz CPU w/1MB L2 cache, 800 FSB, 512 MB DDR400 ram. No overclocking. I just upgraded to v4.09 from v4.05 core client today. That is the only change done to my PC for about a month or so.
Can someone render some kind of an explanation for this anomoly? Thanks....

Two processes for CPDN is normal. Only one ever seems to do any work - I'm not sure what the other one does.

Can't comment on LHC, did you chut down BOINC or have something crash recently. Might explain things.

As mentioned, about 8:00 am yesterday morning I installed v4.09 core client. That was the only change to my system and no crashes or shut downs of BOINC. As a matter of fact, I have not had a crash on this 4.5 month old PC since I built it.

At this time, 6:15 am California time, I have 3 WUs running, 1 SETI and 2 LHC. I have 3 WUs preempted, 1 LHC and 2 CPDN. I'm not complaining about this, on the contrary, I think it's kind of cool. I'm just trying to find an answer for why this is actually happening and I'd also like to know if anyone else has come across this anomoly.

Well, I believe BOINC v4.09 has finally mellowed out and got on track. For quite a while now I have had no more or less than 2 WUs being processed at the same time. Bummer.... :-( I really like doing 3 at the same time. It increased my return of WUs by 33.33333333%. Oh well....

Yeee haaa!!!!! I'm back to doing 3 WUs at once again. This is just totally baffling.
