A asteriod wd 2007 has a 1 / 100 chance of hitting mars. Its guesstimated impact will be near one of the mars rover. Wouldnt that be a ringside seat. This rock is about 160 feet across and moving at 30000 mph.

Please excuse me for mentioning it, but this is old data. Asteroid 2007 WD5 passed quite near Mars on Jan. 30, 2008, but did not strike the planet. It will be nowhere near Mars on Jan. 30, 2009. Michael

looks like Mars is safe. The earth is in line for a close encounter in august of 2065. I don't have to many plans then. Since if I were alive I'd be 100 and would consider the collision a blessing

Keep your eyes open for an even closer encounter in 2091 (If you're still around)

Isn't there a close encounter in 2036 - maybe 2032. I would look it up, but I am falling asleep at my keyboard - time for sleep-sleep, and dreams of friendly asteroids ;)
