Couple of questions............

Will the NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT work ok?

Will Boinc 6.4.5 and Cuda work if installed as a service? (my preference)

What Cuda drivers 178.28 or 180.60?

Thanks

Boinc....Boinc....Boinc....Boinc....

Should do.

No, BOINC must be installed as not a service.

What Cuda drivers 178.28 or 180.60?

Minimum drivers is 177.35, so anything above is good enough as well.

I have Realtek WinFast PX9800 GT (S-Fanpipe).
Work bad - after few runs "out of memory".

Probably.

What Cuda drivers 178.28 or 180.60?

178.28 is CUDA 2.0 which is recommended, 180.60 is CUDA 2.1 Beta which is not.
For me - 178.24, but I didn't tried 178.13 yet, which is my last hope.

Little concerned about the issues with CUDA 2.1, as my new main box requires the 180 driver for proper functionality. I'll take a look at it when I get home.

Use 180.48 (WHQL-Certified) in case you requiring it as "180". This in between 2.0 and 2.1 Beta, should have 2.0.

At my machine (Quad 2,4, GeForce 8600 GT 256 MB) the cuda client is way slower as the cpu client.

Does this run alongside the other work I'm presently doing? Like my QX9650 is already processing 4 work units right now; if I upgrade the client and my drivers will I be processing 5 work units at one time (4 regular and one CUDA)?

Also, will this run when you are using the optimized apps?

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

looking at mine, mine seems to be running as a coprocessor so 2 running on regular cpu and 1 running cuda so 3 total but the time for the cuda seems to be the same time as a rugular procesor but will keep checking .

No, it only planned in future versions. But, you probably can run 3 AP programs on CPU and 1 MB on GPU (which takes 0.04% CPU), but no 2 MB tasks. To run 4 CPU+1GPU additional modifications is required.

Yes, probably, but both optimized AP 5.0 and Enchanced 6.05 must be set up in app_info.xml, I think.

But I know nothing!

It seems odd that one couldn't run astropluse on the CPU and seti on the GPU because they are 2 different exes even before the GPU app was out.

It seems that the GPU app still needs a free CPU to run completely. If you check task manager the GPU app needs 5-10% of the CPU to max out the GPU computing.
