I believe a stronger warning is needed on the My Account / Create New Account screen to tell those using Boinc 5.2+ what will happen if the fill out the form, rather than using Attach Account. In essence, I lost access to my existing account information. I haven't logged in to SETI for awhile, and found there was no field to enter my old account key to log in. So I created a new account with a new email address using the form, and lost access to my old account information and statistics. How do I attach my new email address to my old account? |

In essence, I lost access to my existing account information. Log out of this account. Go to log-in. Click 'forgot email address?'. At bottom of the next page you will find 'Log in with authenticator'. Enter your account key. Once logged into your old account you can set a password. Boinc V7.2.42 Win7 i5 3.33G 4GB, GTX470 |

Adding to AB's post: How do I attach my new email address to my old account? make sure you fill in a garbage email address in the new account, then once you logged in on the old account you can change the email address there to the new one. |

Thank you, Aurora Borealis and Ageless - your solution worked well. I still think a stronger warning may be warranted, but for the number of people who have this problem, it may not be worth the effort. Again, thanks! |
