every time my system restarts astropulses after doing about 70% what gives

Since it appears this pc is the one you're talking about, you could make sure the global setting in Computing preferences under "Use at most (Can be used to reduce CPU heat) Enforced by version 5.6+" is set to 100 percent of CPU time.

If you use the Boinc Manager, to adjust the setting, it would be in the Advanced menu under Preferences then from the processor usage tab "Use at most X % cpu time" would be set to 100%.

It's possible using the Windows AP_5.00 SSE3 Science App might help, (though I think that could just be with MB, but is worth a try)and will also complete them faster.

You could also go into the stdoutdae.txt log file and see if there were any messages during the AP tasks that might be of help.
