I'm running both Seti and Climate and have my resource share set to 1 - 99 in favor of Climate. In Seti, I have the recommended "Switch between applications" to 60 min. What these settings is yeilding on my computer is that Seti runs for 2 hours and Climate for 1 hour. I want to run mostly Climate right now until Seti gets their validator under control (as you can see by my resource share numbers). I don't want to have to detach from Seti to do this. Any suggestions as to settings? And, Don't these settings work against each other? If I wanted to work 99% Climate, then why would I want the apps to switch every 60 minutes?

What version of BOINC are you running? It will appear in the title bar of help about. If it is not 4.09, upgrade to 4.09 at http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/download.php.

That doesn't matter, John. I have CPDN-Seti-LHC running, with CPDN taking most resources in my shares. But Seti, being the only one with these settings on their site is now taking presedence over everything else.

So CPDN doesn't crunch 2 hours out of 4 in a 50-25-25 setting. It's more like CPDN 1 hour, LHC starts unit and ends it at 44 minutes, Seti takes over and crunches for 1h16 minutes, CPDN crunches for 60 minutes, LHC crunches 44 minutes, Seti crunches 2 hours... err what?

Please, if it is a setting for the Alpha testers, don't let it be working on 4.09
And if it isn't a setting for the Alpha testers, then make it a switchable setting, either set your own time per application (and have all sites use the same option to set) or use the maximum time set by sharing resources.

This is getting confusing, a thing we don't want for BOINC.

Whether or not you see the options on the other sites yet, they still work.

For example, before other sites had the option to hold the application in memory when suspending, if you enabled this feature at S@H, it worked for all projects. The requisite HTML verification on the other sites is irrelevent.

The problem is that resource share is still messed up with preempting.
