You! Yeah you - reading this thread! *points*

Join the Impossible Mission Force ... or else!

hehehe Just kidding.

Seriously though - get in on the ground floor of a new team that was just created a few days ago. That way you can help us discover ET, and we can show them the superiority of the human race!

Note: I founded the Impossible Mission Force at Beta too. Join me if you dare!

*staples a recruiting poster - featuring a recently elected official from the United States - to a telephone pole*

-----

President-elect Barack Obama wants YOU!

...to join Impossible Mission Force!

He's Barack Obama, and he approves this message!

Paid for by the Barack Obama 2008 Presidential Campaign

-----

*moves to the next telephone pole and staples another poster to it, whistling the theme to Mission: Impossible on the way*

Disclaimer: This is just another stupid attempt to get people to join my team, and should be taken as such. Neither Barack Obama nor the Barack Obama 2008 Presidential Campaign actually approved this message. The Barack Obama 2008 Presidential Campaign did not actually pay for this message. It's a joke, people!

We're not just looking for a needle in a haystack...

...we're looking for one particular needle in a universe full of needles.

Help Impossible Mission Force find that one needle that we all know has to be out there somewhere.

It doesn't matter if you run SETI@home on fifty bleeding-edge machines or just one ten year old clunker - join us. We're an international team, so it doesn't matter where you live. All hardware and operating systems accepted. In other words, we're an Equal Opportunity SETI@home Team.

If you crunch on Beta, Impossible Mission Force is there also.

I have created Impossible Mission Force on the three BOINC projects I crunch for:

SETI@home
SETI@home Beta
Climate Prediction

As of this post, the team has a total of four members (three of which are me) across the three projects. Help me make Impossible Mission Force a team to be reckoned with!

Message 838025 - Posted: 8 Dec 2008, 20:21:02 UTC - in response to Message 837150.

This story should probably be used to try and recruit for SETI@home as a whole, but meh...

I have run SETI off and on for a few years but recently got back into it full force.
I have added a laptop (Sep 2, 2008; 35,000 credit) and a computer built from parts from two dead computers (Nov 26; 3,000 credit)

I am almost certain you (the perspective recruit) has a better PC than my second. Join, and see if you can beat it ;)

The Mission is only impossible if nobody tries.
Help make the impossible possible.

"Push yourself, as well as your computers, to the limit. Push past the breaking point. Push forward toward infinity."
