The graph of radiowaves on the graphic representation of the signal we are crunching keeps going after I reach 100%. Does this mean it's just there "for show"? |

Uh OH S@H's been caught. Yep it isn't strickly matched to the data being processed. You aren't likely to see anything of importance on the graphs even if you knew what to look for. To date we haven't gotten the ET signal and its unlikely to happen if soon. You're better off not using the graphics because it does eat up a few extra CPU cycles. The pretty graphics are the reward/screensaver that is used as a come on to get more people in to SETI@Home but from what i've read very few people use any of them,want to "save" your screen Turn It OFF especialy if it is a CRT type more unasked for info later..... Old enough to know better(but)still young enough not to care |

I forgot there even was a screensaver. :) Yeah, get an optimized SETI application without the screensaver compiled in. IMO, the screensaver is ugly, anyway. |
