Accounts do not get deleted for science purposes. If you no longer want it used, change the information to garbage and let it fade into the background.

You can't delete an account. The statistics are needed as part of scientific data set. What you can do is remove your personal information from the account and change the email to some non-existing email account (e.g. noone at nowhere dot com) or some other acceptable random letter set.

Before you do this, think, many people come back after a few years, and would like to recover their original account.

If all you want to do is to detach the account from the Boinc manager, this can be done in two ways.
Simple view - click project icon at bottom of Simple view display - select Remove project.
Advanced view - Projects tab - Select the project - Click detach on left menu.
