I even just checked the behaviour on the homepage again: still mixed-up language of links on German page and no effect of the language_select.php. BTW, the yellow line goes through the language link. I've never seen it on my IE7 F. For Firefox, at least, it makes a difference what languages you've selected in the Content tab of the tools/options... For some reason, if you have "Spanish/Mexico" or "Italian/Italy" selected, you'll get Spanish (or Italian...) headers, EVEN IF that's not your first choice of lingos. Something is apparently not honoring the FF "order of [language] precedence" in the website - something that changed fairly recently.
