Hello friends...

Recently it was noted that a very generous donor donated $7865 in one day!

WE CAN BEAT THAT AND WE'RE GOING TO TRY!!!!

This is a 2 1/2 week challenge to raise a minimum amount of $7865! I know this is a difficult time but if you're interested, we'd appreciate your support.

If you are willing to be a part of this, please post your name here on and list the amount if you wish.

**Here is a link to the Donation Methods Page **

If you do not wish or unable to that is absolutely fine-there will be no criticism of non-donors in this Challenge thread.

This thread is not meant to spotlight anyone unless they wish to participate.

It will be locked at some point Friday October 31 at the stroke of midnight and totals posted at some point Saturday.

Thank you for your interest and support to the program.

I'd love to help out again but England went bankrupt last week and took my finances down with it!

I'm glad there's so much enthusiasm to help SETI@home. Unfortunately, I've made as many donations as I'm comfortable with to SETI@home, and I really hope that there is a solution on the horizon for the funding issues SETI@home is facing.

I'd never suggest that people stop donating to SETI@home, but we're really at a point where we're bleeding to death, and we're simply putting tablespoons of blood back into the body. The sooner something can be done about funding, the better.

And when a little more time has passed between donation drives, I will gladly put a day's work into the kitty.

The company that I work for, fired 190 employees yesterday. I was not one of them.
Therefore, I donated $ 100 to the project.

Sincerely, Niels.

Another $50 from Sweden (our banks are still standing strong after the turmoil we had in the early 90's)
The current state of S@H gets me worried...

Dear Friend of Cal,

Thank you for your gift of $777.77 for: SETI@home.

Your confirmation number is: 39534

A few lucky numbers seem appropriate these days...

Just rejoined the SETI frenzy again and decided that's not going to work well if the Project would have to shut down one day - don't want that after 9 years of SETI.

PS.
Ehm, this did something funny to my total Donation count in my Account page.
Total amount : ***.7700195312
(homogeneous redundancy check failed I guess )
