This applies for all the platforms -- how about showing the accumulated debt (LT and ST) on the project tab??? I've been crunching for years and especially with 6 projects it is a pain to go digging into the files for each project to see how much debt has built up. It would be nice to if the BOINC programmers could just add too more columns and show us the debt numbers. Comments??

Use BOINC Debt Viewer (Or BOINCDV for short). It'll also be able to reset the debts, if need be.

I use BOINCView to see the debts. ____________ BOINC WIKI

The latest versions we're testing have a new Properties button in BOINC Manager with which you can check up on all info about how your computer is doing on that project. It also shows your STD and LTD numbers.

Hi Im new to the community and was wondering what this debt was?

Hi Im new to the community and was wondering what this debt was? Debt is a way of tracking how much different projects have used your CPU. Short term debt tracks the CPU usage of projects that have tasks on the host, and Long Term Debt tracks the CPU usage of all projects. High priority means that the project may have some deadline trouble, and has to be run Earliest Deadline First instead of First In First Out. Round Robin as modified by resource fractions is normally used to schedule tasks between projects, however, if a project has deadline trouble, the project with the task with the earliest deadline that has a task in trouble gets a CPU. If there are multiple CPUs, some of the CPUs may be running RR and others may be running EDF. The sound request is very unlikely to be implemented. Tune your radio between stations... ____________ BOINC WIKI

Oh, I meant High priority as large spikes ect.., sorry about that. But Thanks for the radio Idea. I doubt I will be able to get anywhere near the resolution of the SETI dishes :(, but it would be cool to listen to. I watched a show a while ago where a guy made his own mini seti feild with relatively low budget. (in relation to SETI budget). It looked like a pretty cool hobby. Do you think If someone were to set up there own small dish field they could upload relevant data to SETI. Thanks for te info.

I watched a show a while ago where a guy made his own mini seti feild with relatively low budget. (in relation to SETI budget). If you saw the SETI budget, the guy probably had a larger budget than SETI! Sad thing is, that's hardly a joke. ____________

I watched a show a while ago where a guy made his own mini seti feild with relatively low budget. (in relation to SETI budget). LOL no he had like $5k maybe higher he had Coffee cans on the end of his dishes and another guy who just strung up wires and tuned the frequency. They also showed the Allan field if im correct, Each one of those dishes could be bought for 100k and whoever bought them was allowed a webcam connected to it (more of data and audio than any footage why they called it cam i have no clue, probably for lack of a better term.) Poor SETI :(

I watched a show a while ago where a guy made his own mini seti feild with relatively low budget. (in relation to SETI budget). If they are using equipment that crude, they are very likely picking up terresterial transmissions. Look around for pictures of Arecibo to see what S@H is using for an antenna. ____________ BOINC WIKI

I was wondering about something. On the SETI graphics frequency goes along the X axis and time across goes across he Z axis. Now I know that this is probably the simplist way to view the data but why are we looking across the frequncy band and not the time band. If an Intelligent Signal is sent out on a frequncy wouldn't it build up across the time axis on one particular frequency. If this is true the current view makes it extremely difficult to pick out waves or patterns in a frequncy.

The frequency is on the X axis because a signla would look like a straight line running away from you on a fairly narrow width. S@H is looking at narrow frequency transmissions. Time were on the X axix, it would be harder to see whether you were looking at a ridge or a cliff. The cliff is probably a radar pulse.
