I've been waiting for my system to download new work for 4 days now and been getting the same message:

SETI@home|Sending scheduler request: To fetch work. Requesting 950400 seconds of work, reporting 0 completed tasks
SETI@home|Scheduler request succeeded: got 0 new tasks
SETI@home|Message from server: No work sent

When it checks the preferences file I get this message:

Reading preferences override file
Preferences limit memory usage when active to 127.77MB
Preferences limit memory usage when idle to 255.54MB
Preferences limit disk usage to 0.00GB

The disk limit usage I have set to a minimum of 5 GB. What do I do?

are you using the web site preferences or local preferences? you need to allow more disk space.

from my computing preferences....

Disk and memory usage
Use at most 10 GB disk space
Leave at least
(Values smaller than 0.001 are ignored) 0.1 GB disk space free

In the BOINC manager...

In the Advanced menu, choose Preferences. Click Clear, then click Yes. Then go to the Projects tab and click Update. Now your system will use the online preferences instead of the override file.

I would try doing that except that the online preferences and the local preferences are set exactly the same. When this first started happening I went in and made sure that there was no difference. Any additional thoughts?

Could you post the Disk settings? The same settings from Global_prefs.xml and global_prefs_override.xml

Yeah ... change the settings. If you want to use the local settings, do this:

In BOINC: Advanced menu, choose Preferences. Click on the disk and memory usage tab.

Change these settings:

Use at most 5.00 Gigabytes disk space
Leave at least 1.00 Gigabytes disk space free
Use at most 50% of total disk space
Use at most 50% of page file (swap space)

Then click OK and see what it says in the Messages tab. It should change the numbers you first posted, and should start downloading new work units. If not, click Update in the Projects tab.

Problem solved. By default Boinc selected the same drive that I have Win2K installed on, one of the smallest drives on my system. Thanks for your help.
