I have set the graphics selection to minimalist so i could get a text based HUD but the display shows only a progress bar in the top left and the progress graphics in the large box as per the other settings. Any idea where the text has gone?

The last time I used the minimalist preference there where only the progress bar and the moving box.
Maybe you should try to costomize the minimalist view.

There is a scaling problem ... I did a bunch of screen shots and saw this problem ... if you scaled the window you will have able to get a size that will let you see the full display ...

You can see the examples I made in the minimal samples as captures ...

For the screen saver I don't know if that can be fixed or not (you can't do a resize) ...

Hmm, I can't get to that page ... it is new so I am going to look into why you cannot see it ...
