Very issue dependent... conservative on some liberal on others. Though I don't like either label. I belong to no party.

Religion:
None. I'm closest to being one of those Secular Humanists. I don't really think God plays any role in our existence. People may think he does, but I see no proof to support that belief.

Pre 911 I was a Catholic, Post 911 I was a Catholic, today I consider myself more of a Christian soul.....religious faith has just too many labels attached to it.

Political:
In the UK I was Old Labour though became interested in Green politics, since becoming a US citizen I've registered as a Democrat.

Religious:
I was raised Catholic but have been an atheist since the age of 14.

9/11 made no change to either my politics or my religion, why should it?
I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that ...

Interesting question for me, becuase few of the labels are a good fit.

When I was first registered to vote over 30 years ago, I registered Republican. I was (and still am) more fiscally conservative and almost libertarian on the "social" issues. By this I mean that I think it's not the government's business to legislate an individual's personal moral decisions. When the Christian right took control of the Republican Party, they left me. Now I tend to vote Democratic.

I was raised Protestant Christian. However, as I have grown older, I have seen firsthand so many examples of religious intolerance, particularly after 9/11, that I have come to question whether any of the denominations practice what they preach. I would consider myself a Deist. In the words of Thomas Jefferson, "I am of a sect by myself, as far as I know."

I am a lifelong Liberal although I do give serious consideration to other views and I don't "carry the party line" with regards to my politics. It's been a good position as I plan my entry into the political arena in my town.

As for my religion, I have studied and experienced many aspects of religion in my life (I did a 3-year spiritual journey during college) but my home church (and where we got married) is a Baptist church affiliated with the American Baptist Churches

as long as people treat each other badly and try to just make money on other peoples suffering or try to use them, and as long as people care more about their money than other people, i shall call myself communist.( i think jesus would have second that)
what comes to religion, naturally i am atheist. but i do love nice people,
whatever they are by their beliefs.

I was raised a Methodist but stopped going to church in 1988. It's a big bore. In some churches they expect you to assert religious dogma. I don't wanna do that. But I'm not atheist. Maybe God made the Big Bang, I don't know. Maybe God created the Earth 6,000 years ago and made it look like 4,600,000,000 years ago. I was raised Republican and just reregistered myself that way after my August move. However I don't always think Republican. I just received a nice photo of John McCain and Sarah Palin in the mail but quickly tossed it into the recycling bin because I think they had too many kids. I may not waste my time to vote. But if I do I just might vote for Barack Obama and Joe Biden.

The whole thing about who is in power: I mainly vote democratic. However, I do vote for a GOP congressmen in my area because of his stance for human rights in China. Saying that protecting millions is more important that trade with china. I disagree with him on many issues, but as long as he is a strong voice I can vote for him.

The thing about the mythical being that controls us all: I'm an atheist. I was leaning towards Zeus. But then I realized I was only doing that so I could sue the public school system for calling him a myth.

Chris.

I vote for whom I feel is the best person for the job and not along party lines. I've even written in Mickey Mouse a couple times because it was the better choice at the time by far.

I believe in God. Most of my family are Southern Baptist. I have a more moderate take on religion and can get along with anyone regardless of their religious views. The world, IMO, would be a better place if everyone would do the same.

I do Nevermore. Alot of my friendships are based on, You have a right to your beliefs and I have a right to mine. .
