Somewhere in Ver 5.10.?? we got the ability to sort the Task tab based on Report Deadline order, and we still have that in 6.2.18. However, a task due say for 9/23/08 3:58:00 PM will sort ahead of a task due for 9/23/08 8:58:00 AM.

As I frequently run in Earliest date first mode most of the time, the "correct" task is usually executed, the only dis-concerting thing is that sequentially it's not the next task in the list, but down several tasks.

Sorting with a 24 hour clock would resolve that problem (even if you continued to display with a 12 hour clock).

I'm thinking in the past, I've also seen a task due at 10:05 AM will sort ahead of one due at 5:20 AM on the same day

BOINCmgr always uses ASCII sorts. If you set your OS to 24 hour mode you should get the correct sort order, however even then the date may confuse things from time to time. The client sorts numerically so there is no risk of it crunching the wrong one. However earliest date first mode is gone in version 6 clients, the new scheme usually comes up with the same task needing CPU time so you may not notice the difference.
