after launching run_manager:

09:38:41 PM: Error: Can't load image from file 'projects/setiathome.berkeley.edu
/slideshow_setiathome_enhanced_03': file does not exist.
09:38:41 PM: Error: Can't load image from file 'projects/setiathome.berkeley.edu
/slideshow_setiathome_enhanced_04': file does not exist.

...and so on up to slideshow_setiathome_enhanced_98.

it appears these errors are related to missing soft links to missing png files. I upgraded the size of this live distribution and did not have this problem before, go figure--same installation; larger partition. nuts.

any adivce how to remedy this would be greatly appreciated that preferrably does not include reinstallation.

NOTE: boinc and seti appear fine otherwise; minus this out of the blue mystery list of errors all is well.

thanks.

The files in question are only used by the BOINC Simple GUI. How many are there supposed to be according to your installation? Normal installation has 3 of them.

You can add the softlinks in a text file in the setiathome.berkeley.edu directory.
Make sure it doesn't get the .txt extension.

slideshow_setiathome_enhanced_00 contains:
<soft_link>projects/setiathome.berkeley.edu/sah_ss_290.png</soft_link>

slideshow_setiathome_enhanced_01 contains:
<soft_link>projects/setiathome.berkeley.edu/arecibo_181.png</soft_link>

slideshow_setiathome_enhanced_02 contains:
<soft_link>projects/setiathome.berkeley.edu/sah_banner_290.png</soft_link>

Add those to your directory and restart BOINC, then let it contact Seti.
Do make sure though that the picture files in the links are downloaded and in place in the setiathome directory, else BOINC will simply delete these files you just made.
