I accidently created a new account (with same email as original seti account) rather than activating my old seti email. As a result it says i've joined seti on 28th September 2004. I cannot get credits for all my old workunits. Any suggestions?

Try changing the e-mail address of the account you just created to something else. After doing that you should be able to "activate" your old seti account.
