So far as I remember, if I close the client on "X" in upper right corner, client get minimized and continue working in background. That is OK.

But if I close it from the menu, i.e. "File->Exit", it should close completly and remove applications from memory. This does NOT work for me with 6.2.18, and it worked for earlier clients. I have boinc running as a service, if that helps troubleshooting the issue.

I haven't run the 6.x.x variants yet, but with all the 5.x.x ones, if it's running as a service, it should never stop from FILE-> EXIT, it should only stop if you go into the services list an stop it or use one of the command line ways to stop it.

Ways to stop BOINC 6.2.x when running as a service:

1) BOINC Manager->Advanced view->Advanced->Shut down connected client->OK->Cancel followed by BOINC Manager->File->Exit.

2) BOINC Manager->File->Exit followed by Windows Start button->Run, type net stop boinc, click OK.

3) BOINC Manager->File->Exit followed by Windows Start button->Run, type services.msc, click OK. Find BOINC in the Services applet. Right click on it, choose Stop from the drop-down menu.

To start BOINC and the service again, just go Start->Programs->BOINC->BOINC Manager link.

Wow, could they have made it more complicated?

Anyway, good to know the correct way... I was "killing" all apps and clients from task manager...

We have our friends in Redmond to thank for that, I suspect.

No more complicated than Torvalds' creation.
