Hi.... Some days ago (20th of August) a Spanair aircraft MD-87 crashed after taking off from Madrid-Barajas airport (Spain) with destination Gran Canaria, Spain (about two hours flight away southbound). More than 170 people were onboard. After a positive rate of climb, a few seconds later, the plane crashed and over 150 died. More than 50% of the passengers were people living in Gran Canaria, which is one of the two most important islands in the Canary Islands Archipelago, westbound the african coast. Of those 50% of passengers, about 13 were neighbours of this/my small touristic resort in southern Gran Canaria. The bodies of a family of four arrived today. Today the last 3 casualties could be identified, only through DNA probes, because of their heavy burns. Nineteen had survived the crash. Life goes on. |
