My old computer crashed and burned. I think I can read the disks into the new machine via USB.
Can I copy the WU's from it into the new machine and have the program process them? or do I just have to let them lapse?

You'll have to copy the complete BOINC directory (including subdirectories) to the new computer. Then install BOINC into that same directory. After that, BOINC should continue to work on your WUs.
