I upgrade my BOINC to 6.2.16, now there’s a new folder for the project data in programdata. My old tasks is in the BOINC/projects folder. The new version got me a new tasks and it’s in the programdata folder, it won’t use my old tasks.
How can I finish my old tasks, so that it won’t go to waste? I try to copy it to the programdata folder, but won’t work.

You'd also have to move the client_state.xml file over for this to work.
But aside from that, you mean to tell that the BOINC installer did not migrate your data over to the new directory? I have seen that happen on one of my systems as well, uninstalling 6 and reinstalling it fixed that.

But it seems there is a bug in the installer where it doesn't always work.
I'll forward it to the developers. In the mean time, can you tell what steps you took to install BOINC?

(hint: If you get the attach to wizard, click Cancel on it. Then the migration didn't work. Uninstall BOINC and try again.)

I just shutdown the BOINC and just installed the new version of BOINC.
I'll try to uninstall it and we'll see if it will work. I hope the uninstall won't delete all my tasks...
