Does BOINC have a retry when download/upload failures occur? I now have several WUs on my site that still indicate that my CPU is processing this data ... and it is not due to these failures. It would be nice to be able to clean that up (tell the WU server to resend or whatever) for as some of you say, you could be waiting for your credits for WUs that my CPU is not in fact doing but the server thinks is (according to my "Tasks List" page). Secondly, what are the settings so that when my CPU is down to one (1) job, it will actually use 100% of the CPU time. Seems that things drop back to 50% all the time when only one job is running. I've tried various combinations or CPU Usage and resource sharing but I cannot get it right. Thanks. |

Is that what "Reset Project" will do? I didn't want to do that while WUs are running. |

There is a limit of 1 task per CPU (or core if you have a multicore processor). If you are down to one task, only one core will be used. There is no way to make a single task use both CPUs at this time. |

Reset project dumps all of the tasks on your computer for that project whether they are not start, in progress, or completed and waiting to upload or report. It also sets some of the internal data back to defaults. Reset project is NOT something you normally want to do. Also, any work lost this way will reduce your daily quota. BOINC WIKI |

Thanks guys but my one question remains. All other jobs are done but one. I've set the settings to use 100% of the CPU time (on the account and at the BOINC Manager) but the Task Manager / Performance still only indicates 50% of the time is being used - for both processors (Dual Core). If I could have a single WU run at 100%, it would be done in no time at all. |

That's a Windows thing. You'll see that in Task Manager all CPU cycles added up will be 100%. Two tasks running at the same time will show as 50% for one and 50% for the other. Together that's 100% for Windows. And that's normal as you wouldn't want it to see running at 200%, would you? |
