FYI - On my x64 Linux box only one processor is busy. It used to run SETI flat out on both.

That would be because you only have one AstroPulse workunit downloaded. Each processor works on its own workunit. In other words, the science apps are not multi-threaded in that they cannot work simultaneously on the same workunit.
