Many of my results remain "pending" for quite awhile after completion.

Why?

What does this mean?

I can find no explanation on the site.

To be able to verify the results turned in by a particular system, all tasks are sent out to at least two "crunchers". Both results are required to cross verify or "validate" the data returned before credit is given.

Given the vast difference in computers, and many systems belong to more than one project, some results can remain in "pending" status for a long time.

Pending means that the work unit is still waiting for a second return.

Sometimes it is a second matching one.

The initially make 2 of every unit.
