So, if I revive my old 386-35 and run boinc/seti on it under linux (it does, or did run it), it will take months to complete one WU. But it will get more credit than the hundred + or so I have completed in the past few weeks on my main machine?
(HP 3.something gig athlon) dunno, dont care.
Under 3 hours per WU, average.
By the way, I HAVE completed a hundred or so of WUs, but my stats still say zero. It took me over 3 years to hit 500 in seti classic. My seti classic machine (486 dx4 100) maxed out at 130 hours per wu. Mostly way slower.
I remember my 6th grade teacher explaining "Grading on a curve" She told us it was communism, pure and simple.
The strong HAVE to carry the weak. Otherwise the weak will fail.
No kidding. Read Darwin.
If I let the weak drag me down, then I am being weak myself.
I will help a weak person of MY choosing, not ones assigned to me by Berkely.

The only problem with this idea is:
The wu would be 2 months and 2 weeks to late to get any credit. :)

NO.

Your 386 doing 1 unit in 1 month
will claim about the same as a
P4 doing 1 unit in 2 hours

To make it simple the credit is the (time X benchmarks)

Since the P4 will do 360 times more units in 1 month it
will claim/receive 360 times more credits then the 386.
