Yeah!!! Let's all write letters to the Congress so that they can screw something else up too. Or do nothing at all. That seems the more likely scenario.

Suggestion to the web sw developers: include fax and email info in the emailed campaign. The current strategy requires printing, paper, and mailing.

Altho supportive of SETI endeavors, environment is a higher priority for me.

Please make it easy for us to notify our legislators through other mediums.
This is sourced from a database, why not include fax and email info?
thanks

"Contact your Senators here
Contact your Representative here"

Actually you'll be better off writing to these clowns at their local state or city office. All the snail mail to Congress gets stacked up by the ton waiting to be screened for anthrax and other goodies. gee, 7 years and they still haven't caught anyone. Imagine that.

So many pressing issues for our species right now, here on Earth, that comparatively, this is a none issue.

However... perhaps knowledge gained, or messages received, would somehow change us and our views and actions here on our tiny blue dot.

So just to clarify, when I entered all my info and the pdf file came up, do I use that file to mail or email myself? Or is it already done?

I came across a bug in the letter generator. I was explaining how BOINC came to be through SETI@home and I wanted to put in a couple of short URLS. The error being returned is mostly garbage, when I removed the urls, it worked fine.

Me again, another bug. Looks like when the PDF is created, and a single letter takes two pages, the second pages are numbered. However, they are not all numbered 2 like each letter their own unit but are numbered with 2, 4, and 6.

There's a major bug with the "Write to Congress" URL below!

http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/arecibo_letter.php

Entering a # in your address (for an apartment number) will cause the form to generate a debug spew once you submit it.

I got a reply from one of my representatives, Herb Kohl.

Let's hear who else gets replies. I could type in the whole 4 paragraph reply, but let's just say he is a member of the Appropriations Committee and does want to see things like Space Exploration, etc. continue.
