Message 777226 - Posted: 2 Jul 2008, 17:05:26 UTC - in response to Message 777201.

Well, after falling on me bum, I am back at it, and taking another run at the task of quitting.....

What did you do with the pack you bought?

Smoked 'em all up, of course....
I haven't the willpower yet not to smoke 'em if I got 'em.....
The success I did have was sustaining the willpower not to run in a buy a pack....and I shall continue that fight in earnest, on behalf of myself, my kitties, and all those here who are looking up to me to bolster their resolve to do the same.....

Never smoked A cigarette and never will. My mother smoked since she was in her twenties now she uses Liquid Oxygen to get around. She will be 80 next year.

Smart fella ya be!!

I have seen A lot of people try and quit it is no easy task from what they tell me

LETS BEGIN IN 2010

Well Mark, I'll be thinking of you as I spend the 4th of July holiday at my in-laws. Not only must I leave the Oster intermix chamber sitting idle at home, there will be no spirits of any kind where I'm going. None. Even the subject is verboten. I still don't know if it will be for 48 hours or the entire 72....

I got the camera!!! The Panasonic/Lumex DMC-FZ18K.

Found the only one in local stock within 30 miles as far as I can determine....
I probably paid $50.00 more for the camera than I could have bought it for on the internet, but I do like to support local dealers, and I wanted it to play with while I was still on vacation....

The total with local sales tax came to $551.19, and that was for the camera, an extra li-ion battery, a carrying case, and a 16GB SDHC flash card for memory....
Charging one of the batteries now, then I gotta start to figure out settings and such, and then load and start to figure out the software that came with it....

I am going to be outta town visiting my brothers tomorrow, so it might be a day or so before I have something to show ya'...

At least this will give me something to keep my mind offa da dreaded cigs.

If I recall correctly, 'too well to attend' was a tongue in cheek joke from Animal House...

The idea occurred to me. I have "suffered" from such an affliction before...

Unfortunately, I am providing transport for the grandkids. They are also required to make an appearance. They are almost as thrilled as I am.

Ah, what must be endured for familial harmony...

No..........that's NOT the point..........the point is that every arsehole on the planet thinks they have the ultimate solution to life.......and that everbody else should abide by it............

And yet, you had some swell plans for using the gov't to force other people to abide by your neat little idea.

Ain't that grand.

And which neat lil' idea are you referring to?

"Tax the crap out of it and put the oil companies out of business.....the government could step in and take over if the current oil companies didn't want to stay in the business 'cuz it was no longer a cash cow....(that would be one area where I would finally agree that our government SHOULD step into the private sector for the better interests of our country (and I generally DO hate big brother))......"

You want force used against others because "that would be one area where [you] would finally agree that our government SHOULD step into the private sector for the better interests of our country," well, guess what? That's the argument that everyone uses.

Well....
I simply laid forth a scenario that I truly would provide a path away from relying on Arab sources of oil and towards energy independence for this country...obviously the 'status quo' is not working....

But so what? Everybody that wants to use force against others truly believes that their silly idea would provide a path towards or away from whatever goal or bugaboo that they see.

You cannot pile on layer after layer of restrictions, gov't meddling and force, regulation, and nearly punitive taxation, all of which restricts supply and drives costs, and therefore prices up, and then complain when prices do go up.

The answer then, when prices do go up, is NOT, more layers of restrictions, gov't meddling and force, regulation, and nearly punitive taxation.

Rush

Mark

Keep resisting while you work out what all the buttons do on the camera. Let the kitties and you have a good 4th July break.
It's good to be back amongst friends and colleagues

Sorry, but you'll have to wait 'till Friday.....
Played with it a little bit today, but haven't even made it through the whole manual, nor loaded the software yet.

And tomorrow I'm up very early to be off on a road trip to Racine to visit my two brothers and go to see some animals other than kitties at the Milwaukee County Zoo. Well, maybe there will be some BIG kitties there....

See y'all Friday....

Have a good trip Mark. I won't bother Blurf about the donation issue until next week, just sad that it takes that long.
Looking forward to the pics so and hope the kitties won't miss you to much, fireworks and all.
