"Any enemy of a kitty lover is an enemy of mine."

Did I get that quote right? Sure I heard it somewhere.

The fact is that the kitties have few enemies.......
The problem is that they do not have enough friends........

How's it holding up Mark?

I've been hearing you snuck a few *Gasp* on your trip away from the SETI boards ;-) lol. But the past don't matter... it's what you do know that counts...

Luke.

Now is good.......I am strong.......I will prevail......

This is all so simple when it comes down to it.......

Just a matter of choices......minute by minute, day by day......

Do I stop and buy a pack, or stick with it......I am sticking with it.

The slippage bothers the f out of me, but I shall not allow it to take hold.

Feeling a little better......have not noticed the improved taste or smell senses yet.....but that will come around.

Keep it up Mark! As an ex-smoker I guarantee you will feel so much better once you are through the worst of it.

I went cold turkey on a holiday to Spain. I was staying in the middle of nowhere, no cigarettes, no transport and no way of obtaining any! Best thing I could have done for my health & my finances!

I...as most human beings are.......am a work in progress........
I am doing it.......it is very hard......but I am doing it.
So that is a good thing.

Yeah! I'm curious too. I've been the ultimate lurker for the past 2 weeks, & I've seen 1 little slip-up. That's nothing, I've slipped plenty of times before my final quit.

My feeble brain needs to clarify the semantics.

No worries: he is still quitting smoking. He is a little irritable (!!!) and that is a sign of a person wresting with addiction.

But, he will persevere and return to the old kitty kissing, guitar loving, number crunchin’ dude we all love.

Mark, time will be on your side ... just take it one day at a time and before you know it you will have completely beaten the addiction of this bad habit.

Nicotine is more addictive than Heroin. It's not an easy thing Mark is doing..but we are all rooting for him that's for sure.

Smoking is a horrible habit..you'll certainly be an improved person without it in lots of ways.

I am holding out OK.......seems I have faltered....but I guess smoking a pack a week instead of a pack a day must be some kind of triumph after 20 years of the crap......and I SHALL cease it entirely before it kills me.

Thank you again for all who have supported me.......I hope I have given all others who are trying to quit the kill sticks some support too......

I have been a two pack a day smoker for the past 20 years.
As of Wed morning of this week, my wife[Lady Josephine] and myself
have smoked a total of 8 cigs. We both have pledged to be smoke free.

Hope you and Lady Jo have a bit more backbone than I......I am trying to stiffen up the ol' backbone myself.....I have done OK, but am a bit unhappy with myself for not doing better.
I soooooooooo know that the habit's gotta go. Otherwise I would not have made it this far.....you keep up the fight and so will I.

I know you can quit Mark, but quitting has to be a matter of want to, rather than have to.You want to quit, we want to quit, with time we will succeed
