I couple of days ago Seti disappeared from my Boinc. When I try and reattach to the project I get the following message "Boinc failed to log in to http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/ Please check your account ID and try again." My account ID is correct. Everything is working fine on LHC. I'm at a loss. Any suggestions????? |

When you do, if you paste in you ID and password be careful that you don't have any extra spaces before or after. |

Unfortunately, I got the same result. Made sure my ID had no extra spaces. I'm using http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/ I'm still at a loss |

The error message now reads "Boinc failed to log into http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/ Please check your id and try again." In the messages area of Boinc it reads "Message from server: Invalid or missing ID. Visit this projects web site to get an account ID" If I try and get a new ID from seti it tells me my email address is already registered. Still lost.. |

You had done work for SETI@Home for BOINC... is all that correct?
For BOINC Documentaion: Click Me! |

> Yes. My account shows 726 total credits at this time. Ok, And you say that you are running 4.09 BOINC? That the SAH project is not listed in the projects tab? That when you copy and paste the data from the e-mail into the form on the BOINC Work Manager it still barfs?
For BOINC Documentaion: Click Me! |

> All statements are correct... Ok, I am lost too ... :( The only suggestion I can make is for you to run LHC@Home dry and reinstall and reattach ... I just don't know enough to make a sensible suggestion ... My suspicion is that in all the changes you have a "corrupt" installation and it is probably not worth trying to salvage. If you don't mind losing the LHC@Home work, you could just whack it and reinstall and re-attach ... BUt it is up to you ... I cannot think of any way to get the end of the string ...
For BOINC Documentaion: Click Me! |

I was pretty sure I wsas going to hear those dreadful words befor long. Should I uninstall and remove every thing before I reinstall BOINC, or just reinstall over the existing stuff???? |

I would delete the whole BOINC directory and then install. You can turn off network access and then run dry on the current work done and queued ... Like I said, if you don't mind whacking un-done work, well .. jsut exit BOINC and whack the directory and start over... I always feel guilty if I do that ... but sometimes you have no choice ...
For BOINC Documentaion: Click Me! |

I have written as much down as I could ... happy reading... it is a little late, but you could use a look at the Installatin section of the BOINC Owner's Manual ... :) Good you are back up ... now if my site is up my day is complete ... it says it is ... lets see ...
For BOINC Documentaion: Click Me! |

BOINC is trying to connect to the "Classic" SETI@Home site. The URL it needs to connect to BOINC is "http://setiboinc.ssl.berkeley.edu". You are running BOINC, right? L8R.... --- Rick A. - BOINCing right along now.... It can only get better!
|
