And my first thought:

    1. "I'm older than I think..."
    2. I've read that most people don't form long-term memories during the first few years.
    3. I have certain memories that I've determined occurred before my younger brother was born. He is reportedly 2.75 years younger than me (based on birth certificates).

I can remember my first steps around age 1 and also when my father came home from WW2-- I was 18 months then.

Interesting article on early forms of life--it seems like it is related to the tussle over the Martian meteorite which was found in the Antarctic. The controversy was as to whether it contained evidence of microbes or some other formations that are know to occur naturally in the chemical or geologic realms.
