My response to the please come back email

want a new X86 Command line module that i can task to 99% cpu usage
the old one was beautiful.. Boinc runs 2 tasks on 2 cpus.

HOW ABOUT A MULTI THREADED APP i can let run that features multi-cpu
1 unit processing? I really dont care HOW FAST my dual core can do 2 units at once
How about being able to use all the old workunit stats into.

If i could use a CLI that i could say... look the machine ran at 99% utilization on ALL CPUS for X amount of time.... its BURNED IN.....great for troubleshooting cooling issues
I cont care to watch the purpley chart or waste cpu cycles displaying it... i dont really want a screensaver

All old links to your CLI are GONE..... make a new one and ill use it on
AMD platform Windows XP system
Athlon 64X2
(pls make it also support skulltrail or dual quadcore in general)

I wanna see how Dual core compares to my old single processor athlon 2400+
was at 7+ full units per day i think.......

1 seti workunit needs how many Mips? or gigaflops?

How fast can the most awesome computer do 1?

Build it and they will come..............

Thank you!

The CLI client is included with the BOINC download. BOINCCMD.EXE is the filename you're looking for.

Multithreaded apps are being looked into, but it appears that there's more overhead updating each CPU/core as to what the other is doing than actually crunching work. In the meantime, its best to launch a different app for each different core/CPU.

Ho, no, not completely. BOINC.exe runs as a CLI, BOINCCMD.exe is used as the command line control option.

But to be able to use boinccmd.exe, boinc.exe must be running first.
And then these commands can be used. There are also commands that can be used with boinc.exe

I knew BOINC.EXE needs to be running, but I also knew he wanted something he can use from the commandline to control BOINC's behavior, which would be BOINCCMD.EXE, correct?

Yes, that's true. If you just start boinccmd from a command line, you'll get a message that BOINC isn't running. I was only answering more clearly. :-)
