Mac 10.5.2
1.83 GHz Intel Core duo
boinc 5.10.45 (latest)

Seti is the only project I am running, and I can't get the seti client to start up. It reports "Project Suspended by user" on both processors. My preferences are set to maximize seti on both processors and the hard disk etc. And I have set "run always" and "Network activity always available" in the Boinc Activity pull-down menu.

It was running fine until a few days ago. I can't think of anything else to do.

Not to insult your intelligence, but did you try toggling the suspend button in the projects tab? ;)

Well that did it. I suspended and unsuspended at the *task* level, but didn't at the *project* level. I followed your suggestion and ... it worked. So please feel free to insult my intelligence anytime. And thanks.

Seti is the only project I am running, and I can't get the seti client to start up. The status of the project is ---. I have clicked the "Suspend" button and then the "Resume" button. On the Tasks view the status is "Suspended - user active". Again I clicked the "Suspend" button and then the "Resume" button. Nothing. What else do I need to "Unspend" and where do I do it? I'm ready to just uninstall BOINC!

"Suspended - user is active" is a completely different informative message. It usually means the preference "Suspend work while computer is in use" is set to "yes" meaning that anytime you are using your computer, SETI will not process work until the system is idle.

If you want to allow SETI to run all the time, change the setting "Suspend work while computer is in use" to "No".

If you want to allow SETI to run all the time, change the setting "Suspend work while computer is in use" to "No".

Or, for a shorter term, choose “Run always” from the Activity menu to override the preferences while you’re actually using BOINC Manager; you can switch back to “Run based on preferences” at the end of the session. However, most users find that letting BOINC apps run while their system is in use has no discernible effect on their other activities.
