The linux port on your rig is somehow still spanking it....ALOT.

No doubt. But the compare is not complete without running 8 cores loaded native Linux. You might check out UL1's X5482 rig, though still slower on a per/core basis the clock is much closer to Crunch3rs rig.

Yeah, I checked UL1 a while ago. Crunch3r's times are still quite a bit quicker, especially on VLAR.

What interests me is the relationship between the unexpected performance and the conditions it's running.
Why?

SETI reported CPU time. And who knows relations between CPU time in VM and wall clocks time? ...

And a second one has validated...

http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/workunit.php?wuid=258515975

Paired up against a client error, a 4.45 host that didn't validate, and someone running stock...Nice job, Crunch3r!!

@Raistmer - Very good point. Wonder if Crunch3r would post some data from the log file. CPU times and clock time might differ some.

Wasn't there an at-length discussion on this very subject a little while back? Lunatics?

Based on the above, it looks like it reported 2432 [.766162]

not by much, AFAICT.

My first two Ubuntu Linux VMWare results are in also, they are badly paying ~54 credits, but validated fine. Yes I know that VMWare is very efficient, though I thinks this indicates that the build is a reasonable equivalent to the windows build, pending further tests.

So I take it, it remains for internal Testing so far ?

Could more of the Lunatic's, that have Linux running native, pre-testers report to the Linux forum in the development area please? Any of those running dual boot with Windows would be especially handy for certain tests.

If we don't have enough of you the I guess we need some more ... right ?

I would love to help out, but I still can't get to the lunatics site. I still get blocked by the same web address that was mentioned in the other thread...

A shame that, some errant linkage in the US I understand? , I hope it clears up soon.

We'll just have to wait and see... compiling it on linux is a real pain... i can tell you that for sure! atm i'm still trying to get a host prepared that is able to compile a SSE4 app.... that's what i was doing all day...

For the FreeBSD guys there will probably be only a SSE3/SSSE3 app ... but we're not even there yet... have to do the 64 bit apps as well...
