It seems to be, I cant connect either. I've just reinstalled XP on my PC and was reconnecting to the project. It seems to have downloaded a few bits and peices, then stopped. Wonder if it were my PC that brought it down? Eeck! |

No one can...Check the server status @ Seti homepage and you`ll see the reason why :) I always download enough WU`s to keep me going just incase something like this happens :) Just trying to catch UP! |

Everyone with download problems, the news is still the same as it has been since it was posted on the front page: April 10, 2008 The Seti administrators have had weekend as well. They're running on Californian time, so if anything is to be fixed further, they've only just come into the office. |

I'm new to BOINC, could you describe how to download more than one WU at a time please. Colin, When the servers are allowing downloads again in a normal fashion, go to your Computing Preferences in Your Account and edit the "Maintain enough work for an additional x days" line to something higher. Minimum is 0.001 (if I am not mistaken), maximum is 10 days. Save the changes to the web site, open BOINC Manager, Advanced view, Projects tab, select Seti and click Update. If you are using BOINC Manager's preferences, then do know that these override the settings from the web site. You will have to change the settings there, or delete them in order to get the web site's preferences to take over again. Attaching to any other project is also a good way to keep your CPUs busy. |

I hadn't realised you could use the website to effect changes in the application. I'll give it a try.
You know when someone points something out you wonder how something so obvious could have passed you by... I've just had one of those moments lol! Many thanks for posting and the advice. By the way, I've discovered this page which shows the state of the server, currently download servers 1 & 2 are disabled which I'm guessing is the cause of our troubles: http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/sah_status.html |

I'm new to BOINC, could you describe how to download more than one WU at a time please. The most recent versions of BOINC will accept a 0 for the connect interval. BOINC WIKI |

The most recent versions of BOINC will accept a 0 for the connect interval. I saw that, John, but I didn't give that one... I gave the additional work setting. :-) No need to change the connect interval if that's working all right. |

The most recent versions of BOINC will accept a 0 for the connect interval. Which can also be 0. If both are 0, then in the single place that we care about the sum, it is set to one second. BOINC WIKI |

Front page news: April 14, 2008 Latest thread in Technical News on the continuing problems. Keep an eye on the technical news forum for new threads from the staff. Server status. Uploading shouldn't be a problem, as that server runs OK. |
