Hey all, I just got my quaddie running stable at 370 x 9. Using speedfan however seems to report my vcore at about .1 volts less then what i have it set to at bios...anyone else have this? I have bios set to 1.5 or so but vcore shows 1.4. also, i know you have to set all the core temps at 15 degree variable, but what about the cpu temp?

thanks all

[edit] cpu-z reports the same. both go between 1.39 and 1.40 and in bios i am set at a little over 1.5. Temps are stable at 48-50 for 2 cores and 54-60 for the other two [/edit]

Yeah, that's not uncommon to have calibration errors like that. Sometimes even the BIOS is off in left field.

Generally, if you want to really get accurate you have to go through it and verify all temps and voltages independently. Fortunately Speedfan and the other decent monitoring programs let you plug your derived calibration factors in to correct the display.

Oh alrighty...i just noticed that my multiplier jumps down to 6 every now and then!! That makes my quad a 2.2 GHZ UNDERCLOCKED cpu.....Anyone ever see this? im gonna lower my fsb by 1 and see what happens

It's the first time you OC?

A Q6600-G0 at ~ 1.5 Vcore.. (you have this one?)
How long you would like to use the CPU?

It depend what you want to do..
I OC without changing the Vcore..

I don't know how long I will use the PC, so I don't want shorten the life of the CPU with higher Vcore..

If the PC have nothing to do, he go to idle and the Multiplier and Vcore go down..
EIST (Enhanced Intel Speedstep® Technology) and C1E (Enhanced Halt State)

Everytime lower Voltage arrive the CPU..
For example at my mobo 1.35 BIOS, in real 1.26 to 1.27 Vcore

It is a dedicated cruncher, so it is always running at 100%. Even tho bios is set at 1.550 under both speedfan and cpu-z, vcore is only around 1.378-1.4 but yes, this is my first overclock, and i might be playing around with the vcore a little too much but hey...my mb can take the 45nm quaddies so i wont loose any sleep if i ended up burning up the chip

im trying out 376 x 9 bios is set to 1.550 vcore but cpu-z is reporting between 1.392-1.408 and temps are just below 60 C

[edit] seems stable but my multiplier still drops to 6 now and then. it was doing that last night a little at a lower overclock when i went to bed, but when i woke up it wasnt, and was still stable, so maybe if it stays at this for a few hours it will stop? any ideas?? [/edit]

[edit2]knocked it down to 374 x 9 still jumps to 6 sometimes in cpu-z but core temp dosent show that...it still says 9 and my temp log for core temp shows 3676 mhz on every line...[/edit2]

Ok ive been pretty stable at 371 x 9 for over an hour, temps stable at around 56-57 but still jumping down to x 6... The vcore also jumps when it goes to x 6. Goes from 1.392/1.400 to 1.432 or so
