Voyager - great idea ;)

I don't know why Mark was banned. I'd suggest posting to the setimods address and asking.

I was given an address and emailed a question about just that, but it was eithor ignored, deleted, or never got there. I basically assumed that it was a case of "We made a decision & it's none of your business", which is fine, but it would have been nice to be told that rather than ignored.

But back to topic, it appears as though Marks crunchers are still alive and well, spitting out a little lower than I remember him being - 26k RAC, but I thought it was closer to 30K, but since I cant look up his details.

I think some members of BOINC Synergy are not happy that their team did not win.

Yeah so I have heard. Alas we cant get any comments from the owner if the farm as every time I mention him the thread gets deleted. Oh well, such is life in the ET searching universe - the mods have to do something to pass the time.

Fred, yes the user in question still shows up the the winning team (as a banned member), so it appears as though his crunching is being counted

Remember that "the mods" are not a monolithic block, it could be "some mods" and there are others that don't agree with the actions taken -- and aren't aware of them.

I don't know why Mark was banned. I'd suggest posting to the setimods address and asking.

I'm not making an issue out of this. We play the game - we have to abide by the rules as interpreted by those who hold the rulebook. I suspect that most of those who shout loudest have never had to make such decisions anyway.

I'm sure that Mark will be back when his "sentence" is served.

Mine was a genuine question.

It only took me 15 months to get to 50,000 SETI credits.

I used to be a moderator -- long story, but the short version is I'm happier not.

There is no easy way for the moderators to respond to your question. Certainly no way if you don't include your user ID, and if they don't want to give you their personal E-Mail address.

Letting their E-Mail address out opens a dialog between you and a single moderator, which means that the rest of the mods are left out.

The fact that they didn't choose to open a dialog (and this isn't exactly a democracy, it's closer to the judicial system) doesn't mean that your question wasn't discussed.

... and I wouldn't expect a mod to tell us why Mark got banned. If that was your question, I'm sure they would not respond to it.

I happened to catch part of the exchange last time Mark got banned, and while I like Mark, it was a clear violation of the rules that appear to the left every time we post.

The one above seems close to what I'm thinking, If I'm wrong I'll leave It at that as I don't want to get banned, If I did I wouldn't be as forgiving, I'd go elsewhere or shut down the extra 2 PCs.

I can guess what His current Banishment was for(I'm not saying It as I don't think It's necessary as It's obvious to Me) and I'm wondering If It'll be permanent this time. I'd say hello to the banished one in a PM, But since I don't know If He can respond to a PM, I'll just say Hello to the Lurker out there, Hope You're ok and all that.
