Whoo hooo.......
After about 10 hours of whiskey and cigs........
I have finally got another one of my rigs upgraded from a dual core to a quad.......
Have not tried to OC it yet, the mobo is being a real nasty SOB at the moment.....but finally got the deed done anyway........I keep having to consult the net again about the niggling little details like getting the thing to autologin.....god save regedit....

So expect the RAC to go up to at least 26k or so.........

Read the whole thread, my man.......no problem.
Bid is for a one year stint with my credits going to the high team bidder for the year's time.....
So far Seti USA is by far in the lead......
BUT.....a couple more days to go.....
And several have offered to either add to the bid regardless of who wins, or add to Seti USA's fine bid......

An old truism I used to say when I was much younger was 'I am not cheap, but I can be bought'...LOL.

Just asking.

Just scan the thread, my friend.....all bids are on the table....I have (and will) not taken any by PM.....they are all here for your perusal.......

Not gonna post any end of auction warnings....I may not even be here when the actual time comes.....probably be visiting Lori and Starbucks, Oscar, and Callie.
A little more than 7 hours to go.......

I have not noticed any bids matching yours, and several others have added to your first offer on behalf of Seti USA.......so it would be safe to say that you are in the lead.

Your support of my effort is very much appreciated......

I will be joining the fine folks at Seti USA as soon as I have confirmation of zeitgeistmovies' first 400.00 payment to Seti.....and will stay with them thru April 2009...12 months...with confirmation of his 110.00 monthly payments, pending my RAC limits which he set in his bid. The other Seti USA members may just PM me confirming your payments.

And if any of those who did not win the auction would still like to make the donations that you bid, I would be honored to have you post that in this thread as well, although you are not obligated to do so, of course.

Thank you all again for helping the cause......

Best regards.....
Mark.

I have joined the team as of about 2 minutes ago, and once Mark has confirmed the deposits will agree to stay there for the next 12 months. I will be running the 2 quads for a while longer as the power bill came in last week and was not quite as bad as I expected (AU$450 for 3 months), but winter is approaching and may increase the next bill a little more than I'd like!

Last year was $100 per 3 month period extra for heating, so not too bad, and this year we have new roof and under floor insulation which should help keep the heat IN the house rather than exiting through the ceiling as it appeared to do last year. If I keep the bills under $500 then SWMBO is happy

Awesome. Did anyone ever warn you that I don't like to loose :)

The Bid:

1: A $400.00 1 time cash payment to SETI - Berkeley at the close of the auction.

2: and $110.00 per month for every month you crunch for our/my team, starting July 2008, to be paid at the end of each month on the 30th for crunching done for the previous 30 days.

3: Should I change teams (highly unlikely) your farm will follow me to my new team.

4: Should your RAC fall below 15,000 then the monthly installment drops to $100.00.
Below 10,000 then $75.00.
Below 5,000 - no payment.
If your RAC goes to 50,000 then the monthly installment will be increased to $120.00

5: After 12 months of continuous crunching either of us has the right to discontinue to continue the agreement. (including a provision for re-negotiation)

Tomorrow, Monday April 14, 2008 I will get the donation moving forward. And will give Mark proof of such once the transaction is completed.

Mark, Feel free to PM me from SETI.USA message boards - as I would prefer this as to the "Berkeley" boards. If that is OK with you.

Your farm will make a nice addition to our already screaming team.!

And just think - you are now a member of the first team to reach 1,000,000,000 total BOINC credits!!

Very well Sir.....looking forward to your confirmation.....
I will have to see if I am properly registered over on the Seti USA boards....seems to me I had some problem last time I was there....like I could get into the forums, but it did not seem like I could log on properly....I'll play with it some more and let somebody know if it's not right.

BlackJack is in charge (more or less) of the board. PM him, and I will also point him to this thread so he can get it figured out.
