I can't tell if SETI BOINC is doing anything. All I see is "Resuming computation for result 26ap04aa.7733.23474.872154.133_2 using setiathome version 4.02". Nothing else has happened since yesterday. Is it even crunching at all? How would I know? Which file should I check to see if it wrote recently? |

One way to make sure it is in fact crunching would be to use the Activity Monitor (in /Applications/Utilities) or the command-line program 'top'. It would be quite nice to have a -verbose option like seti classic, though. I don't think one is currently implemented...when I run setibionic with the -help flag, there is no mention of such an option, at least. |

It only shows numbers but that's considerably better than nothing. Though there aren't any animated graphics, you can at least see it's progressing by keeping an eye the numbers, and the percentage processed is also displayed on its Dock icon |

To find out if boinc is actually running seti is: open a new terminal window and enter ps -au where is your username/id boinc and seti should show up or open a new terminal make the window as big as possible enter: top you should see boinc and seti and the amount of time they are using or open a new terminal window cd to where boinc is installed enter: ls -al *.xml wait a minute or so enter: ls -al *.xml the time for client_state.xml should have changed !! Thats it! I do not think that Seti-control works with boinc !! have to check. Keith J. Schultz |

There is most definitely a version for SETI Boinc, which I'm using and I can assure you it works (when there's anything for SETI BOINC to work with, that is)! You can find it at http://homepage.mac.com/delaneyrm/SETIControl.html or via version tracker. Actually, I've noticed there's a new version since I downloaded it, so as soon as I've posted this, I'll be downloading that! |

The new version has a log, which is in effect what you would see in the Terminal window if running it from that. Also it shows CPU time. Unfortunately, I haven't had any work units to crunch for a couple of days, so can't see it in action. |

You can also check the progress percentage, like in seti classic, but manually typing in a new terminal or X11 window, by typing in cd /wherever your boinc folder is/slots/0 press return then typing in grep prog state.sah and press return... if your boinc folder is in ur Users folder theres no need for the / in the begining. Hope this helps everyone... Matt |
