My Windows Vista is blocking the BOINC at the startup. I upgrade my BOINC to 5.10.30, now you have to manually start it your self.
How can make my Vista start the BOINC at the startup without blocking it?

There is no way to make BOINC start automatically unless you install as a system service or disable Vista's User Account Control (UAC). Note that disabling UAC is not recommended unless you know what you're doing.

This thread discusses the Vista issue in more detail.

Hope to have an answer myself to that question, maybe in the Service Pack 1, release date this year. For now I don't mind to click 3 times with my mouse..:)

Actually, it should be fixed by BOINC version 6. Meanwhile, install as a service.

This is a message I recieved from the BOINC Alpha mailing list:

BOINC 5.10.45 is now the new stable release for all platforms.

This release is a bug fix release which includes fixes for better proxy support through the use of the <force_auth> configuration option in cc_config.xml which is defined here:

http://boinc.berkeley.edu/trac/wiki/ClientMessages

This release also contains fixes for startup/shutdown issues when running on Windows Vista.

Enjoy.

You can download this new version here

The startup/shutdown issues that 5.10.45 fixed were in relation to file corruption/workunit corruption, not being blocked by UAC/Defender. That fix still isn't expected until BOINC v6.x.

Not for a while yet. If testing goes a bit quick, perhaps in 2 to 3 months, but don't hold me down on that.
