JD, born somewhere around May 1957.

uli, nice try... I was born up in mendocino and raised in humboldt county, ca.
up where the "fog" wasn't always fog, and the redwood trees grow to 325' or more when in search of the "worlds tallest tree".

US-101, can you dig it? Lots of hippies back in my day.

While you are the closest so far,
I'm afraid you're still in the fog.
Sorry, no Moon Pie for you today.

For those in search of the only clue to my age, in this thread you must dig deep.

I got a "speeding" ticket in front of this giant redwood log "Souvenir Shop" in the summer 1976. Intersection of Broadway & Wabash...

Wazza matter Ian? Can't get your hands on Moon Pie in England?

I sense that maybe you are grasping at straws here.

Might you pay a visit to a gent near Cambridge named David. He'll have all knowledge to help your guess.

Or you could just sit back and relax with one of these fine books...

or

while dreaming about your first ever Moon Pie. NOT!!!

@DR C.E.T.I. - Sorry about my "insulted" remark... all in good fun, my friend.

You must have found the mystical Blue Moon Calendar. Question is "If I just turned 50, then how many blue moons old am I?"

12/31/2009 I will come of age as you predicted... 21 at last. ( you will too, won't you? I think that we have the same Blue Moon Age ;-)

What a night it will be... End of the month, ...year, ...decade, and to top it off..... a "21 Blue Moon Salute"!

GO for it... Take the final step... You've almost got it!

I was born the same year as Madonna, Michael Jackson, & Prince. I am a few months younger than all 3 as my birthday is not until December.

~~~We have a WINNER~~~
@Ian - I guessed yours, now you've guessed mine. Now how deserving is that!
(You didn't make an early morning trip to Cambridge to look up David, did you?)
We both share having to wait more than 2 years for our first Blue Moon, 1955 & 1961,
yours and mine respectively. Let this be a reminder that they don't happen often
and that each one in passing should be celebrated.
Your Moon Pie is in the mail...;-) Enjoy!
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
As Ian has deduced through diligent research and an overwhelming desire
to taste one of America's most nostalgic treats, I'll turn 50 Years in October, 2008.
The Blue Moon Calculator was my informational source and is a very good read for anyone interrested.
What's in the future:
  • Our next Blue Moon is on the night of New Years Eve 2009... Boo-yah!!!
  • In 2018, we will celebrate 2 Blue Moons, in January and March.
    February has no full moon that year.
  • The following Blue Moon will be on All-hallow-even, 2020 (Halloween)...
    I think I can wait 10 years before making plans for that night :-o
Keep on BOINCin'
Thanks for the invitation, but I've lived in Texas for years. Closest I get to Mendocino is when I can pick up some of North Coast Brewing Co.s heady No.38 Stout.
Train depicted on the label was called The Skunk and used to make the trip between Willits (town of my birth) and Ft. Bragg.
Plus I just love the company logo... If you know what I mean ;-)
Haven't driven thru Texas in years on the way to Kansas. My fondest memories are the smell of money ;) Thank goodness I was raised on what you call a Dude Ranch.
Hi Keith, I'll guess that you are 4+ months shy of 21 Blue Moons and can join uli & I in celebrating 21 Blue Moons on 31 Dec 2009.
You will turn 50 in December, 2008. I will be waiting for you.
