I really feel like such a newbie lately.

I installed BOINC on my PC (big computer) so that it will run continuously but everytime the screensaver came up it immediately disappeared.

I'm wondering if it was a special setting that I am to have for the PC to have for the screensave to use or what would cause the screensaver not stay on? Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks.

Is this the Vista machine? The screensaver is not very compatible with Vista, in the current version. You will need to await for version 6 for it to work better.

I'm using it on my Vista Laptop but on my XP PC it only shows the BOMIC screen then that it goes back to my desktop. I thought maybe I had some settings wrong or if I did something wrong while downloading it.

Make sure that Directx 9 with all updates are installed. Also the current video driver for the card.

The machine is low on memory. This may also be the reason. 256M is awful small for XP. If you could at least double it, things would probably work better. Plus it's using shared memory for video, and the small amount given to the video memory is not going to allow the video to run.
