The headings on the columns shown in the BOINC Account Manager - Messages tab do not allow for the message data to be sorted.

It would be useful if this could be added, particularly on the "Project" column so that the messages can be grouped by Project.

Alternatively, a method to filter for messages a given Project.

Cheers

Open BOINC Manager, View->Grid view.

With that setting you can adjust the columns in the Projects, Tasks and Transfer tabs. The messages tab doesn't really need it.

If you want to filter messages from any given project, open up stdoutdae.txt and check for them. Since the messages in the Messages tab never stand still while BOINC is running and any project is crunching, it'll be very difficult to filter the messages and keep them in focus anyway.

Thanks for that information.

I'm already in Grid view. I'm getting messages from three different projects. SETI keeps issuing a message about restarting a particular work unit as follows

SETI@home|Restarting task 02mr07ac.27614.4162.9.6.37_1 using setiathome_enhanced version 527

This has been occurring for several days now (I don't check the messages very often) with a frequency of 10 - 60 minutes (it varies). There are about 200 of them so far. The percentage complete for this work unit never seems to get above about 12% and drops back to 0 each time the message is issued.

I do not know whether this is a problem or not. I suspect that it is.

I figured that, if the processing of a work unit is suspended for whatever reason, the message would say that work was resuming, not restarting.

So, I copied all of the messages to a Notepad file and have been manually removing the ones which are not related to SETI so that I can post some of them here with a query.

While the 'Copy all messages' and 'Copy selected messages' are useful, I think that it would also be useful to have a facility by which messages for a selected project can be extracted from the message tab.

Neither of the other two projects issue a message like this without eventually showing another message to indicate that the work unit has been completed.

I'm new to this so, I figured that I should check whether it indicates some kind of problem.

Cheers

If you do not mind using a 3rd-party product, BoincView does what you are looking for.
