I wish to see two things in the Client: 1-It will be very useful if there is a checkpoint column in the TASKS TAB to see if the project is close to a checkpoint to guarantie not mistiming for stopping or suspenging. Because some of the project take calculations back to last checkpoint even if it is suspended. 2-Server status tab or a rss reader in a simplest way for server status pages for the projects (ex: number of vus ready to be send or running or disabled servers).

You can check if an application has checkpointed and therefore see if it's close to a next checkpoint, by enabling a flag in cc_config.xml
With this file, situated in your BOINC directory, you can enable advanced messages in BOINC.

See this FAQ on how to set it up.
To enable the checkpointing messages, enable the <checkpoint_debug> flag.

Not such a good idea, as it would imply that BOINC would constantly poll project servers for new news and their server status. That would not only keep your connection busy, but with a couple of thousand of BOINC clients out there wanting to know the latest info of the server, it would slow project servers down as well.

The server status tab might be difficult, especially if not every project implements a server status report.

I would say, instead of a server status tab, it can be a button instead. Then, when you attach to a project and your client begins downloading files, an entry can be made in the appropriate XML file that would look something like this:

[serverstatus]
url=http://serverstatuspage.projectserver.whatever
[/serverstatus]

And if this entry is found in the XML file, BOINC Manager will add a button to the Projects tab that, when clicked, will open your web browser to the XML-specified URL (which should be the server status page).

I would say, instead of a server status tab, it can be a button instead.

That can be added to account_setiathome.berkeley.edu.xml and be in this form:

<gui_url>
<name>Server Status</name>
<description>Show the Seti@Home server status in a browser</description>
<url>http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/sah_status.html</url>
</gui_url>

Put that in between the other buttons in the <gui_urls> tags section, save the file and restart BOINC. If you then go to the Advanced view, Projects tab and click Seti, you have the Server Status button in the menu on the left.

THANKS, this makes message tab more confused because some projects take frequent checkpoints but at least I can see the checkpoints .
